PRODUCER'S ASSOCIATION DEMANDS 45 CRORES FROM RANVEER SINGH AMIDST FILM WALKOUT
A significant financial claim of 45 crore rupees has been leveled against actor Ranveer Singh by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar following Singh's reported departure from the upcoming project, "Don 3". The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has backed this demand, issuing a directive for non-cooperation with the actor. This move by FWICE means their members, encompassing a wide array of industry professionals from directors and cameramen to spotboys and lightmen, will reportedly refuse to work with Ranveer Singh. The impact of this directive is stated to extend even to advertising film projects.
The dispute emerged after Ranveer Singh's withdrawal from "Don 3" a mere three weeks prior to the commencement of filming. Ashoke Pandit, Chief Advisor of FWICE, stated that multiple attempts were made to solicit Singh's version of events over a ten-day period, but these were met with silence. The producers' associations are reportedly seeking support from other industry bodies for this claim.

ACTOR'S TEAM CITES "CONSCIOUS CHOICE" FOR SILENCE, EXTENDS RESPECT TO FRANCHISE
In response to the FWICE directive and the escalating controversy, Ranveer Singh's team has issued a statement. The actor has "consciously chosen to maintain silence" regarding the matter. The statement also conveyed Singh's continued respect for all individuals involved with the "Don" franchise and expressed well wishes for the film's future success. The team emphasized that the actor's focus remains on his ongoing work and future commitments. This development has fueled further public discourse and divided opinions among audiences regarding the situation.
BACKGROUND TO THE STANDOFF
The friction between Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh stems from the latter's exit from the highly anticipated "Don 3". Akhtar, alongside Ritesh Sidhwani, reportedly brought the issue to the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA). While Akhtar participated in discussions remotely from London, Sidhwani visited the IFTDA office. FWICE officials confirmed that the 45 crore demand is documented and open for discussion, with a willingness expressed by Akhtar, Sidhwani, and associated bodies to engage in dialogue for a resolution. The actor's team, however, has maintained a quiet stance.
