GATINEAU, QC – The Royal Ottawa Golf Club is slated to host the 2027 CPKC Women's Open, marking a return to the national capital region for this LPGA Tour signature event. The announcement places the club, located in Gatineau, Quebec, just across the Ottawa River from the city of Ottawa, as the stage for one of Canada's premier annual sporting competitions. This designation also positions the club as a significant venue within Canadian golf, being one of only eight facilities to have hosted Golf Canada's four major events, including the RBC Canadian Open and both national amateur championships.
The CPKC Women's Open has garnered significant international recognition, being named Sport Tourism Canada's International Sport Event of the Year for 2024 and twice receiving the LPGA Tour's Tournament of the Year award for 2022 and 2023.

The choice of Royal Ottawa is highlighted by its history and the local golf community's engagement. Greg Richardson, General Manager of The Royal Ottawa Golf Club, expressed readiness, stating, "Our championship golf course, maintained to the highest standards, historic clubhouse and accessible location in Gatineau, Quebec, just a short par 5 away from Ottawa are ready to show off what our members enjoy every day to the world." This sentiment is echoed by Ottawa Tourism's President and CEO, Michael Crockatt, who anticipates a "seamless, world-class experience for athletes, fans and partners."
The event's connection to homegrown talent, particularly Brooke Henderson, is also a recurring theme. Henderson, whose own popularity is cited as a significant factor in the tournament's success, won the championship last year and is expected to draw considerable local support. Her influence and the growing generation of Canadian female golfers she inspires are seen as bolstering the tournament's standing in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.

The course itself, designed according to the 'Scottish principle' which emphasizes the natural topography, is noted for its challenging layout featuring hills, dales, varied tee positions, and small, fast greens, intended to present a fair test for LPGA Tour professionals. The club's management has underscored their commitment to hosting a memorable championship, aiming to raise funds for local charities through the CPKC Has Heart program.
The 2027 event will follow the 2026 CPKC Women's Open, scheduled for August 19-23 at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta. Royal Ottawa previously hosted the national women's championship in 2000, while the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club hosted it in 2022.
