Rudy Giuliani, 81, former New York City Mayor and a figure prominent in national politics, is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition. His spokesperson, Ted Goodman, confirmed the situation on Sunday. The specific reason for his hospitalization and the duration of his stay have not been disclosed.
Goodman stated that Giuliani is "a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength." President Donald Trump also commented via social media, calling Giuliani a "True Warrior" and "the Best Mayor in the History of New York City."
Giuliani, who earned the moniker "America's Mayor" for his leadership following the September 11, 2001 attacks, has experienced recent health issues. Last year, he was hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a car crash in New Hampshire, including a fractured thoracic vertebrae and other physical harm. He had also noted a hoarse voice on his talk show recently, attributing it to being "a little under the weather."

His public career spans roles as a prosecutor, mayor of New York City, and a staunch defender and attorney for Donald Trump. More recently, he has been associated with the spread of conspiracy theories concerning election integrity. Trump had previously awarded Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom and appointed him to an advisory council within the Department of Homeland Security.
